About Our Club
We are a small group of RC pilots that focus primarily on organizing and hosting F5J USA Tour contests in Northern California. We also have occasional monthly F5J contests as well as occasional practices that focus on electric F5J competition soaring. We practice at various fields in Northern California depending on wind and field availability. Sometimes we run small informal practice contests, other times we get together to help each other with setting up and trimming out new F5J planes.
Our primary communication vehicle is our “NorCal F5J” Google Groups email list. You do not have to be a club member to join the NorCal email list. When we have practices we usually coordinate via direct emails or texts.
Member dues
There are no dues. We have no official “home” field and thus we have no home field maintenance work or expenses. If we ever have a need for club funds we may pass the hat around for voluntary donations but at this time we do not see that happening.
How to join
NES is open to new members who enjoy RC soaring contesting and competition electric gliders. If you are interested contact Chris Bajorek and let him know about your interest. If it looks like a good fit you will be added to the NES roster.
Member duties
Since our main focus is running several NorCal F5J USA Tour events every season we rely on our members to help us make these contests fly, so to speak. Our goal at these events is to balance the operational work such that NES members can also participate in the contest flying.
